SPEAKING IN TONGUES
Apparently, in the series Speaking in Tongues, the portrayed subjects speak 'fluent Nature'. Suspended in trance or semi-conscious states they seemly become conduits for a dialogue between the human and the natural world, weaving an intricate tapestry of poetic and spiritual significance. You could say, like in mystic and shamanistic traditions, this series invite viewers to explore the ineffable beauty and magic that transcends the spoken word. The series taps into growing fear of disease as well as vaccine hesitancy. It also touches on the Tower of Babel story, which describes how God, fearing human arrogance, created multiple languages as punishment for attempting to build a tower to escape another flood. This division led to linguistic groups unable to communicate. Apparently, God did not anticipate the development of Google Translate.
Speaking in Tongues
Speaking in tongues, also known as glossolalia, is an activity or practice in which people utter words or speech-like sounds, often thought by believers to be languages unknown to the speaker. One definition used by linguists is the fluid vocalizing of speech-like syllables that lack any readily comprehended meaning.
